So the plan today was.... 55 miles. I did a stunning 10 1/2. Not what I had in mind.
Lets just say sometimes your not meant to ride your bike. For me today was that day.
The kids are on spring break. Three kids, instead of one at home with Mommy. So yes she needs a little break of her own. I get the green light to go for the ride, I just need to take the kids out sometime so she can have a little alone time. No problem, I'll take the shopping and after the ride we can go to the park or something. Ethan is sigh up for "T" ball and we can go that.
The kids and I get the shopping done. Lots of "can we get this" or "can we get that". Were done soon enough. Get home put everything away, get them feed. Time to go for a ride.
Today was a nice day 54 degrees, with a north west wind around 10 mph.
The route was a north west route so I'd ride into the wind and have a tail wind to get home.
That is if I made it that far. Which as you can guess I didn't. UCK!!!
So here comes the good part. Leave the house just get out of town and going down a hill that you can hit 40 mph coasting. But I not going to coast, I'm going to pedal. That's when it happens.
The crank locks up will not turn, WTF! Not wanting to break something I stop. Yea if you have a problem with your bike and it won't pedal STOP!
Look over the bike, chain is locked up somewhere, but whats the problem. I take out the rear wheel and then I see it. The cassette lock ring is coming loose locking up the rear wheel.
I do what I can to get it back on with out to much luck. "Hand tight" is all I can do. Nurse it back to the house. Made it back without any problems. But I was taking it very easy.
Once home I cashed it in, Went to the park with the kid's. Not a complete loss. I was daddy this afternoon.

Give me a break!
The election is over and Obama won! You gotta love it!
Now on to other issues. I went shopping last night, walk in the door @ Wally World. Christmas music? Are you kidding me its not even Thanksgiving yet and these ass hats are playing Christmas music. I thought I would go nuts the whole time I was getting groceries! Monday and Tuesday it was 70 degrees, the check out lady said they started playing it on Saturday the 1st. Give me a break... her comment was "they are trying to get people to spend money because of the economy.
Like we don't have enough to do we need to make sure Wally World hit their 4th quarter profits!!
So here is my suggestion DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM WAL-MART!
There are other stores that are doing this I'll leave that up to whoever reads this.
But for me I'm done with them.

GEORGE CARLIN'S NEW RULES FOR 2008
GEORGE CARLIN'S NEW RULES FOR 2008
New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff "you" want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.
New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com ! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Because you don't particularly like them! Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days --- mowing my lawn.
New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain? Lobster?
New Rule: Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: Do you have two of them? Good, we're done.
New Rule:There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but, without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.
New Rule: Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it, he will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just solved the Social Security crisis.
New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a 'decaf grandee, half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one Sweet-n'-Low, and One NutraSweet,' ooooh, you're mixed-up.
New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering My PIN! number , pressing 'Enter,' verifying the amount, deciding, no, I don't want Cash back, and pressing 'Enter' again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Almond Joy.
New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you Spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to 'beef with broccoli.' The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.
New Rule: Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN Recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too exciting. What's next, competitive farting? Oh wait, they're already doing that. It's called 'The Howard Stern Show.'
New Rule: I don't need a bigger mega M&Ms. If I'm extra hungry for M&Ms, I'll go nuts and eat two.
New Rule: If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's remember the reason something was a television show in the first place is that the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie.
New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear '27 months.' 'He's two' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.
New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than Minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, 'Do you want fries with that?'

A little One on One action

Girlz gone Grumpy II, When did they first go grumpy?

Its older then you and works better too!
Preschool bike stand.

Went up to Quality's open house last week, after Dinner on Friday night walked down to One on One Bicycle Studio. They had a showing of Tour DE France photos. Pretty cool! If you ever get the chance to stop by Gene's shop don't pass it up. Its a one of a kind shop.
All kinds of cool stuff, and you have to walk through the basement if there's a path.
